Men, PLEASE start telling your little girls, your wives, your sisters, your mothers and your female friends how beautiful they are! This morning I came out of a dressing room and a beautiful little girl of about 10 was standing in front of a mirror with tears rolling down her face in a dress she was trying on. I asked her if there was anything I could do to turn her sad face into a happy face. She says, No matter how much allowance I save or how many dresses I try on I will never be able to buy the things it takes to look like Katy Perry My heart just broke! This child was BEAUTIFUL, and I told her so! She then lists all of her flaws Everything from freckles to curly hair to being chubby. For once a smartphone was a necessity. I sat down, showed her how PhotoShop works, showed her hair extensions, false eyelashes, constraining proportions on film and pictures, false butts with Spanx and push up bras. We browsed some pictures of what some of these beautiful people looked like before Hollywood and big business created them. In this society females are trying to live up to an impossible standard of beauty. No one looks to see the soul of a person anymore! They judge beauty on outward appearance. This little girl already believed that she must look like this or she had little or no value. I would be willing to bet that if she was told daily at home just how beautiful and smart she really was her value system would be shaped differently. You can hide imperfections with a lot of things, but you cannot hide a beautiful soul. Let those beautiful women in your life know just how perfect they are! #rantover
