Men in Dresses on the Run Bali Inter-Hash Run to be Held in Bali May 9-12, 2014 (2/23/2014) Bali Daily (The Jakarta Post) reports that 2,000 people are expected to participate in the “Wonderful Adventure Indonesia Asia Pacific Hash 2014” organized by the Borobudur Interhash Committee and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in May 2014. Scheduled for May 9-11, 2104, the race through villages and streets in Bali will pass through the regencies and municipality of Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan and Klungkung. The Ministry’s director of development for special interest tourism, Achairudin told the press that the participants would be running on designated routes and interacting with the local communities. The event will be headquartered at the Inna Grand Bali Beach in Sanur where a welcoming dinner will be held. Part of the event will be a the traditional “Red Dress Run” in which participants, both male and female, run wearing outrageous red women’s dresses. Participants from 30 countries are expected to participate. The event appears planned to go ahead despite a decision by the Bali Police, advising the organizers of the Bali International Triathlon to postpone their international sporting event scheduled for June 22, 2014 due to the presidential elections.
