MENINGA: Yeah very aware of the bumpy road and thats probably why I brought the statement out and against what a lot of the critics are saying up here. It is an opinionated country, which is well and good as well. But you cant build Rome in a day as they say, and theres seven million people in Papua New Guinea and probably five million follow the game of rugby league and they want to see results, they want to see their national team compete against the best in the world. But youve got to remember that in Australia and New Zealand and in particular in England theyve been playing the game for over 100 years, and theyve had enormous resources put towards the game, the games developed in leaps and bounds, particularly in recent years. Theres a lot of money being put into the game here in Australia as well, weve sighted recent over one-million dollars worth of TV rights and media rights here in Australia. So Papua New Guinea are a little bit behind that, so I love the fact, I get great satisfaction out of going up to Papua New Guinea and trying to improve the game up there. But youve got to be patient, you just cant keep on giving us a hard time because its going to take time.
