Mental Health Counseling Degree is similar to a degree in psychology in that it concerns mental health and the reasons why people think and behave in the ways that they do. It is, however, much more specialized than a degree in psychology. A degree in psychology does not completely prepare one to work as a counselor as a mental health counseling degree does. People who work towards a mental health counseling degree learn aspects of psychology such as organic brain functions, developmental psychology and learning and behavior.
