Mental illness already has enough stigma attached to it. I wish our society could stop using mental illness as a scapegoat for gun violence. While I realize that SOME of the cases of gun violence are related to the shooter being mentally ill, or so is at the time, it does not mean that ALL people who have or will act in gun violence, school shootings, or workplace shootings, are be mentally ill. Why can we not move away from a society who must label everyone, and every action, and just look at situations and behavior for what it is? Why can we not be accountable for anything? Oh boy, accountability, thats a whole different rant for me. Ill leave that one for next time, as my thoughts on accountability arent typical and would leave me with an entire book to write as my status.
