Menu for the Week It’s a good week to stop by the shop, as our “window artist” Ed Williford has been at it again. (You’ve a double treat this week, as he’s installed a new piece in each window.) Ed has been a friend since we both lived in Jackson and frequented Primo’s Deli on State Street. We always had grits (made with cream instead of water) and homemade toast (you had to request “homemade”-thick slices of buttery goodness). Ed was such a regular that he occasionally received calls on the store phone… In those days, he worked small-with matchboxes and bits of this and that-always intricate and always with a story behind the creation-something to make you laugh or wonder. His work now is certainly larger but with the same amazing attention to detail, the same sometimes humorous hidden meaning, the same “found”, organic quality. It seems that our customers (and passersby) never tire of admiring his work-there’s always a different angle or something you haven’t noticed before. We have a few of Ed’s wall pieces for sale-let us know if you’re interested.
