Menzi Masuku enjoying Pirates living The Durban-born forward has previously had stints at Mpumalanga Black Aces and Jomo Cosmos, as well as Induna Academy. Its a nice feeling as a person because I have passed on through so many academies, he says of linking up with the Buccaneers. And to play in this new innovation of Multichoice Diski Challenge for a club of Pirates calibre, its unexplainable. It is good for us as youngsters. Most clubs are using even some senior players to take part too, this is really helping us a lot. The coach (Augusto Palacios) knows us and it is up to you as a player how you impart that going forward. And also as a team, we are getting positive results, he adds. Masuku went on to praise Harold Legodi for mentoring him. I have to thank Harold Legodi for what he did to me. He really helped me a lot while I was still in his academy and he took care of me, Masuku says. Also coaches from the youth set-up for the national team like U-17 and U-20. They were also really helping and encouraging me to keep it up and most of things I learnt from them. But Jazzy Queen was really my mentor as I spent most of my time in his academy. I cant also leave out Jomo Cosmos in the NFD. It was a great experience there and they grew me lekker and they pressured me not to be scared when Im on the pitch. Also the experience of playing against the Nedbank Cup Ke Yona Team, it was nice to gain some game-time and whats more being at Orlando Stadium, I cant express into words my friend.
