Mera Hou Chongba celebrated across state Mera Hou Chongba—the traditional sharing of gifts between hills and valley peoples symbolising the inseparable relationships was observed widely in the state. The festival was observed at Sana Konung under the aegis of Mera Hou Chongba Thousil Lup. Titular King of Manipur Leisemba Sanajaoba and people from hills and valley participated in the observance. Speaking on the observance, Leisemba Sanajaoba maintained that observance of the occasion at many places without understanding the real significance is unfortunate. He said it is contradictory to the real objective. As part of the observance gifts were exchange between people of hills and valley. Leisemba further observed that the inseparable bond of relationships between hills and valley cannot be separated at any cost. The festival was also observed by Acoam Lup Kangleipak under the theme—Preserving identities of indigenous peoples at THAU ground. The observance was participated by peoples both from hills and valley. In his key note address secretary general of ACOAM LUP, Sanjit Soraisam said the exchange of gifts between hills and valley peoples will strengthen and cement better relations. Sanjit Soraisam observed that observation of this occasion will definitely enhance the inseparable bond of relations between hills and valley. Gifts were also exchanged as part of the observance. Speaking to Impact News, President of Acoam Lup, Somorendro maintained that hills and valley peoples are all brothers.
