It is another front row lock out from the Silver Arrows team with Lewis Hamilton behind Rosberg in 2nd position. Williams’ pair Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa secured 2nd row in 3rd and 4th positions respectively. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso continues to take the best of the rest honours by taking 5th position. The Spaniard’s future with the famous Italian squad looks almost certain to end in mutual agreement after many months of speculation. The separation is strengthened with the shocking news of Sebastian Vettel’s announcement of leaving Red Bull at the end of this season. Vettel is contractually not allowed to reveal the identity of his new employers but paddock rumors are certain the reigning World Champion is Alonso’s replacement. Red Bull was quick to share with reporters at Suzuka that Daniil Kvyat has been promoted from the sister team to join Daniel Ricciardo in 2015. Meanwhile Daniel Ricciardo continues to out-qualify his teammate in 6th position. McLaren duo Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button will share the 4th row in 7th and 8th positions respectively. Alonso’s imminent departure may revive the Alonso-McLaren partnership once again. Ron Dennis has made no secret about his wish to secure Alonso’s services having brought Honda back to F1 in 2015 as engine supplier to McLaren.
