Mercy Said No In all my years of walking with the LORD, I have yet to meet one Christian who has lived happily ever after. On the other hand, I have met a great many significant saints who have endured affliction, loss, disappointment, setbacks, & incredible pain through the years. & I have seen many of those same men, women . . . cling to their joy, radiate hope, and sustain a winsome spirit . . . even through heartache . . . even through tears . . . even at deaths door. My GOD shall supply all your needs according to HIS riches in glory in CHRIST JESUS. ~ Phil. 4:19 . . . When we take a tumble and cry out to GOD in our shame and distress, the psalmist says HE inclines HIS ear to us. HE bends over to listen. We say, Oh, FATHER, Ive failed! Ive failed terribly. Look at what Ive done! And then HE puts HIS arms around us, just as a loving earthly father would do. HE then says, I accept you as you are. I acknowledge that what you have done was wrong, as youve confessed it to ME. Now, MY son, MY daughter, lets move on. ~ Incline your ear to me, rescue me quickly; be to me a rock of strength. ~ Psalm 31:2 ~ Charles R. Swindoll ~ Jesus \0/
