Merge into Hurriyats or JKLF, Bilal Gani Lone to ‘smaller resistance groups’ A day after a senior woman resistance leader in Jammu and Kashmir called the pro-freedom amalgams a flop show, a senior Hurriyat Conference leader Monday asked smaller pro- freedom groups ‘to wind up their business if they were serious about the ongoing freedom movement’. Without naming anyone, senior leader Bilal Gani Lone said: if small resistance groups are serious about the ongoing freedom struggle then they should wind up their business and join either of the Hurriyat Conference factions or the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. Lone, who is member of the Hurriyat headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said both the amalgams are vibrant and cannot be written off.“Criticizing each other and indulging in mudslinging would lead us towards disaster. Reckless statements made by some leaders prove beneficial for our opponents and it causes serious damage to the movement,” he said. “There are only three major political thoughts, one is followed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, another by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the third is pursued by Muhammad Yasin Malik. All other petty groups should join these major groups in the interest of freedom movement,” Lone said. He said that the cause of Hurriyat ‘is sacred and bigger’. “Hurriyat represents the sentiments of people and it is not fighting for grabbing power. There are ups and downs but we should not give in. No doubt, Hurriyat has achieved what we failed to achieve in four decades,” he said. He admitted that there are flaws in Hurriyat Conference but said that there are people in Hurriyat who are really capable and know how to deliver.Lone appealed all the separatist leaders to shun the habit of criticizing and instead suggest ways and means to take this movement to its logical conclusion. ***ID***
