Merry Christmas. But there were some shepherds in the region lodging there and they kept the nightly watch over their flocks; And behold, the Angel of God came to them and the glory of THE LORD JEHOVAH shone upon them and they were greatly afraid; And the Angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you great joy which will be to the entire universe*, For today, The Savior has been born to you, who is THE LORD JEHOVAH The Messiah*, in the city of David. And this is a sign for you: You will find The Baby wrapped in swaddling bands and lying in a manger. And suddenly, the great armies of Heaven appeared with the Angel, while shouting praises to God, and they were saying: Glory to God in Heaven, and upon earth peace, Good News to the children of men. Lk 2:10-14 (Aramaic bible in plain English) The pronouncement of Jesus birth was good news (something that has already happened) of great joy for (and this is why I love this version) the entire universe! Not just all people, but the whole of creation is bound up in this infant. This peaceful little bundle of Marys joy and the hope of the universe in the form of the most peaceful and gentle thing imaginable. This peace is to all people, of all colors and creeds, and it is given as pure innocence and love. Its good, its great, and its for all. Merry Christmas.
