Merry Christmas and Joyous days to each of you. Id like to offer each and every one of you my sincerest thanks. As I gaze at a beautiful Christmas tree this morning, I cant help but feel thankful for all the beautiful gifts I have received this year. Under the tree? No, unlike Christmas in years past, the underbelly of the tree is bare. I will however share with you the presents I received this year. Family who has stood by me through the most trying of times this year Two sons who have began to forgive me for the mistakes I made as a father. A group of friends who didnt judge me for falling in the midst of something good. A God who continues to have faith in me and feed me with hope when Im starving despair. A year of good health and a job that is allowing me to move forward on my dreams. A recovery program that gave me opportunity at a better life. Most of all Ive received kindness, love and compassion when I least deserved it. Christmas, much like a wedding day, is a celebration of excitement and renewed hope. The beginning, not the end. I find myself humbled today by the lack of presents under this tree, and yet in the same breath I feel empowered by a feeling of gratitude at the amount of gifts I have to be thankful for. In my heart I believe the following to be true..... Long after I stumble upon expired gifts of Christmases past at a garage sale, the gifts I have received this Christmas Day will forever be entrenched in my heart. Thank you. You are all , one of the many gifts Ive been blessed with this year. God Bless , and well, you know.... Lovem All.
