Meru Senator, Kiraitu Murungi, has sensationally claimed that former, Prime Minister, Raila Odinga is plotting a coup through a referendum. Speaking at a press conference in Nairobi on Thursday, Kiraitu who is a fiery legislator associated with the Jubilee Alliance warned that Senators and Governors from the Jubilee Alliance will back out from the referendum call if Raila wants to sneak his own selfish goals with the Governor’s referendum. Kiraitu, who is a Harvard trained lawyer, said they would not allow Mr Odinga to sneak in his proposed amendment to the law in the Governor’s proposed constitution amendment. The former PM and his CORD lieutenants want to change the current mode of governance from a presidential type to a parliamentary system. They have said this initiative will allow minority communities to have a share leadership this country.
