Meryl Streep didnt say this...a Portuguese life coach did. Misattribution does not lessen the power of the sentiment. I do find Im getting too old to tolerate a fair amount of BS, especially when it comes out of the mouths of people who are hateful and willfully ignorant. Those people are just asshats and I often think they are somehow diminished emotionally. Otherwise, why feel the need to stir the pot and foment discord for the sake of entertainment? And ironically, I find I have much less tolerance for intolerant people...even when we share a similar point of view. I rarely see the need to be mean. Kindness goes a long way...especially if its someone you would not be predisposed to be kind to otherwise. You might learn something trying to understand another perspective. The world is seldom black and white and while the contrast between dark and light holds a certain beauty, I find that truth often dwells in the shades of gray.
