Mess with the rooster is one of Leonards favorite games. Hes been doing it for a couple of years now, every morning. Both animals enjoy this game, but for different reasons. So far no injuries, though not for the roosters lack of trying, though it did save the cocks life, along with those of his hens. When a coy wolf attacked the flock this last spring, the rooster, whose name is Columbus, was like, Psh, youre not even as big as the other one whose ass I kick every day. Come get some! and he fought it off before it could hurt anyone. I ran out outside with Leonard and a shotgun after seeing the wolf prowling along the edge of the flock, and all I saw was a big pile of rooster feathers. I thought Oh no! until I saw Columbus, big as life, and the coy wolf in retreat. The big cock had to be taken to the vet for antibiotics due to a puncture wound on his thigh, but he was fine. All thanks for the fact that Leonard is a bit of a jerk.
