Message for Danute Čekauskaite Voelker. Please do not post in other forums accusing me of being pro-communist. How would you like it if I accused you of being anti-semitic based on your posts in Facebook. You do not know who I am or my principles. I can inform you that my Lithuanian family have survived emigration to Scotland, deportation to Siberia in 1917, fought for the British in WW1 and were awarded medals for bravery, served in the Burma jungle in WW2, were the Pathfinders for the 82nd Airborne division on D-Day, were deported in 1941 to Siberia , executed by the NKVD, died in the timber camps and survived the coal mines in Siberia, managed through discrimination by the British authorities in the 1940s and 1950s, survived serving in the Soviet forces in the 1950s. I could go on and on - what I chose to do is to not rub everyones face in that Danutes family is the best family in world and everyone is unlucky not to have been christened Danute. You claim that America is the land of free speech but you ban me from the forum and you accuse me of being pro-communist without the right to reply. What I advocate is that we learn from the mistakes of the past and do not go to war as it does not solve anything. And while we are about stop promoting the notion that the second wave of immigrants were better than the first wave of immigrants, such facile statements demean the descendants of the first wave.
