Message from Hoffy, our Director: Hello Wide Bay HOG members, Well ... the weather did not look promising this morning as it bucketed down briefly at Innes Park and Bargara and continued bucketing at Burnett Heads. Despite the fact that it was not looking good early, the day turned out to be a beauty for the ten bikes and riders (+ Pauline) who braved the conditions and headed to Woodgate. Mark Nielsen did a great job of leading us down and back safely as well as throwing in a bit of variety on the route - including a trip out to Walkers Point - which, at high tide was beautiful - see photo attached. Then, it was back in to Woodgate for lunch at the Woodgate Club (Bowls) where we were made welcome and all had a great meal. Today we had four new Harley riders join us - Nathan Kay, Wes Newton, Andy Hayhoe and Craig Brough. All four of them had a great time and will be filling out their membership forms this week, and hopefully joining us again - and for the Christmas Party on the 13th if they can make it. Col was all smiles when he won the ride raffle - (for the first time in 3 years) - and Barry was all smiles as well with a birthday today. . Thanks for coming Bazza!! His old number is 047 (I think - check his jacket) so you can do the sums to work out which birthday it was. Thanks to everyone who came along and commiserations to those who decided not to because of the early bad weather indications. Thanks also to Trev Gordon who came to the Dealership to see us off - but unfortunately had to work today. Next ride is on December 8th - Burrum Heads - via Maryborough - route to be confirmed. kind regards to all, ... Hoffy. p.s. The first photo of Mark and Pauline (partly obscured) - see attached - .... shows our new meeting point in Childers - across from Mackas. Good area to park and right outside a coffee/ice cream shop and across from Maccas - what could be better. Well done Mark! Good idea.
