Message from Windlesham Parish Council Met office update: Although this email is to highlight the risk of a few thunderstorms developing over parts of South East England for a time today, a repeat of last weekend’s violent thunderstorms is not expected in the coming days over the region. This is because we have a different type of air mass, less warm temperatures and lower humidity than last week – so the ingredients being thrown into the atmospheric mix are not as potent. However, despite being, what can best be described as, somewhat more ‘typical’ summer storms, localised minor surface water flooding impacts are possible – and the Met Office have issued a Yellow Warning for Rain from midday until 2100 today bringing a Medium Likelihood of Low Impacts. During the weekend and into Monday, there remains a risk of further thundery showers in places and this situation continues to be monitored. So, please stay up to date with full details of the very latest weather forecast, either on Hazard Manager or the Met Office website: metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings®ionName=se
