Message of PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari On World Polio Day – October 24, 2013 Karachi, October 23, 2013: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan People’s Party has saluted the anti-polio workers across Pakistan for carrying out nation’s campaign for eradication of polio to ensure physically fit and handicap-free generations in future. On the occasion of World Polio Day, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said some of the polio drive workers are performing in very difficult conditions created by some misguided elements but their commitment and valour will always be appreciated by PPP. ‘My mother Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto launched anti-polio programme in Pakistan in 1994. As a mother, she was more concerned about the nation’s kids falling into handicapped lives due to non-vaccination,’ he added. PPP leader said People’s governments have always fought war against the polio and during the last government his sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was appointed as Nation’s Ambassador for anti-polio campaign as she is the child who was administrated the anti-polio vaccine. He appreciated the way Aseefa took forward the campaign and took personal interests for a successful drive to make Pakistan a truly polio-free country. He also paid tributes to many anti-polio campaign workers and security personnel guarding them who were martyred at the forces of darkness while performing a national duty. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reiterated his Party’s commitment to anti-polio drive and assured them sitting governments in Federal and provinces its support in the Pakistan’s endeavors to complete eradicate the cruel diseases so that Pakistani children may grow as healthy generation.
