Message to all the parents heading off to see their kids play sports over the weekend… PLEASE put your bloody phones away UNLESS youre taking pictures! Ive just got home from basketball and am again disappointed in the amount of Mums and Dads who were glued to their phone screens every 5 minutes and barely even watched their kids play! One Dad last week sat the entire game looking down!!! I just wanted to walk over, pull it out of his hands and throw it out of the stadium. Its an hour or 2 tops SURELY the bloody emails, texts, Facebook etc etc can wait????!!! I saw what you missed - and that was your childrens faces looking over at you with pride after a great shot, a good play etc only to see the top of your head buried within your screen! AGAIN AND AGAIN! Bloody disgusting - it takes so much for me to bite my tongue. PUT YOUR BLOODY PHONE DOWN AND LIVE IT!!!!! If you dont, while youre ignoring the most important people by focusing on the not so important people, nothing will happen right now, I guess, apart from a heart breaking just that little bit more because youre not parting with just an hour of your time - but you just wait - in the future, when all of a sudden you want your childrens attention, dont blame them for not wanting to give it to you!!! After all - they learned from you! Every week it drives me mad - its not right! I KNOW parenting is hard work - trust me I know, some days I want to absolutely crawl under a rock when my 3 boys are going spare & just escape from the whinging, fighting, million questions, nagging etc etc - but PLEASE try your best to remember - Children Dont Need Your Presents—They Need Your Presence… Come on - lets lift hey? Enough said Id say…
