Message to anyone posting about Facebook privacy issues and threatening to leave Facebook. Please, just leave. Nothing is keeping you here. You act like Facebook is doing you a disservice when YOU are the one providing all the content. This is a FREE public service that you choose to use everyday. Also, if Facebook is relaying information to government corporations as you proclaim, what information are you afraid of them getting? Pictures of you taking a selfie? Messages about that one petty fight between your coworkers at your job? Let me be blunt with hard love real quick: no one cares. The worst part is I dont think you do either. Regardless of how much you rant about it, you still stay! Actions speak louder than words and both seem pretty hollow. I think you just post about it to make yourself seem more enlightened or intelligent on the matter when really if you were to spend more than two minutes away from conspiracy theory, click bait websites and look up a non-biased, credible site, you would learn that Facebook actually really cares about its users privacy, incorporating a plethora of privacy options every year. Youre so quick to jump on the band wagon to talk down on the new messenger app update wanting to access your photos, videos and texts, but so slow to realize that over half of the other apps on your phone already have access to those same things as well (access that you also granted, may I add.) Heres my take on it and has been my take on it from the beginning. Facebook has done something incredible. It has openly connected over 1/6 of our entire population via one central hub. It puts you in immediate contact with not only your friends and family that you hang out with everyday, but also friends and family that you havnt seen in years. It has allowed the fastest mass communication of things actively happening around the world in history. They have made intuitive designs across so many platforms to make it extremely accessible to virtually anyone and they do all this for free and never once asked for anything in return from its users. So please, if you dont like Facebook, just leave. None of us will miss you.
