Message to health care professionals. Dear, Doctors,Nurses,x ray techs, and everyone else that works in the Health care profession. I know you might deal with peoples illness and injuries on a daily basis but the patient has not. Recently I had an operation on my spine, everyone before surgery was great. After surgery not so much, It seemed like when i was vomiting and spitting up blood you did not seemed to concerned, nor helpful. When I had difficulty breathing because of swelling in my throat, you didnt want to hear about it. So I want to say thank you for making my experience a frightening one. I understand that you are an intelligent person, but your patients are the most knowledgeable about their own bodies. So here is my advice to you health care professionals. 1 Put down that cell phone, you can play candy crush when you get out of work. 2 Hear what your patients are saying, just dont listen to them. 3 If you can deal with sick people, quit the profession. Their are plenty of professions where you can make a lot of money 4 take the time to do your job right and dont make errors, because your errors cost people their lives!!!!! 5 if you feel like your over worked, dont complaint your patients about it. Do something about, tell your boss more people are needed to do your job. 6 If you see a co-worker struggling with keeping up with their patients, dont just sit back and wait to help, Go help them! 7 This one is for you Doctors, You are not God You are an intelligent and skilled person, but you, I repeat you do not know everything. P.S. quit handing out medication like it is candy, medication isnt the answer for everything. Well it is if your in cahoots with the pharmaceutical companies 8 Nurses try using empathy sometime, it works wonder. Imagine every person you take care of is either yourself or a loved one. 9 Hospitals hear me loud and clear, hire enough competent staff to care for people. Stop worrying about the bottom line and start worrying about quality of care. 10 Last one is for all health care professionals. I know this might sound ignorant, but learn the language that you are treating people in. If I cant understand you, you probably cant understand me. So take the time to learn the language or get an interpreter. Cant tell you how nerve racking it is when you walk out of a hospital, trying to figure out what you said. That word puzzle that just came out of mouth is not the first thing I want to think about when I leave a hospital. OK I will now get down off my soap box!!!!!!
