Met a brother this week who is doing a Walk Across America on - TopicsExpress

Met a brother this week who is doing a Walk Across America on behalf of the Petty Family of NASCAR and has been to 48 states, telling me it was something the Lord put in his heart and hes doing in obedience to Him. The Pettys have established a camp for terminally-ill kids in memory of Adam Petty, who was killed at age 19 in a crash during a practice run about 14 years ago. The camp was started with the help of the late Paul Newman, a longtime racer himself who made a movie about the sport, Winning. Thats what Adam was doing at the time of his death — winning just about every race he entered and reminding lots of fans of his grandfather, Richard Petty, the winningest driver in NASCAR history. Now, through these camps and all the good theyre doing for children, the Petty Family (and Adam through this legacy) are doing a whole new kind of winning, so check out this upcoming Wednesdays edition of the Carbondale News to read the whole story...
