Met leaders from Iraq and Syria and heard firsthand stories of bombing, beheading, and attack of Christians by the rebels in their local areas. Then I said to myself, its real, I cant believe it. Its really happening! Its not just stories that people made up in the newspapers and tv reports. Then spent time praying with them. Ive learned so much from these people! I never heard them prayed for their personal needs. They passionately prayed for their countries and other people. I was reminded of the verse in the Bible, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Lord we lift Iraq and Syria into our prayers. Hear the shout of your people and heal their land!
