Metro Public Works receives 1,800 calls a year to clean up illegally dumped waste and litter. Not only is illegal dumping ugly, it brings down property values and often has serious environmental consequences. And when the city has to clean up an illegal site, that costs you the tax payer big dollars. One Metro Councilman says enough is enough. He is proposing stiffer fines to make people think twice before they would illegally dump.
