MetroNews Morning News Headlines: A Raleigh County jury will return to a Beckley courtroom later this morning to again consider the question of mercy for the man charged with killing his stepfather and trying to kill his mother. The jury came back last night with a guilty verdict against Donald Dunn, Junior on a charge of first degree murder, but the decision of mercy -- determining his parole eligibility -- was NOT unanimous as required. State Police are looking for the husband of the Mason County woman who was found dead in a Letart home on Wednesday. Troopers say they were doing a welfare check on Kathy Anderson, 54, whod been reported missing, when they discovered shed been shot. The search continues this morning for Charles Anderson, 57, who may be driving a 2008 grey Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab truck. A settlements been proposed for the many lawsuits that followed the closing of Mountain State University. Under the agreement, all former Mountain State students who failed to finish school before the school closed will share in a pool of money. Some of that money will come from the liquidation of Mountain States property in Beckley and Martinsburg. The University of Charleston, which is now using that space, will move. Morgantown Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the early morning hours today in Downtown Morgantown. One person was being treated at Ruby Memorial Hospital. It happened on Chestnut Street, outside of Bent Willeys bar.
