Metz Racing TQ /600 Race Report Borger’s Speedway 8/24/2013 Metz Racing headed to Borger’s Speedway in Saylorsburg for some short track racing Saturday night with Cory Cormier in the Csernak F8 and Geoffrey Sutton in the always fast 46. It was Cormier’s first day of racing in a TQ midget after years of experience in Karting. Sutton was able to earn a third place finish in the heat turning the fastest lap of the day to that point finishing behind Austin Fehr in second with Bill Unglert winning the heat in the Ed Wilbrugh 5w 600 Microsprint. Mike Fillbrunn was fourth with Cormier a close fifth. The feature saw Unglert continue his reign out front after winning the Dirt 600 feature and lead the first couple of rounds from his pole starting position before relinquishing the lead to Austin Fehr. Geoffrey Sutton muscled his way into second and began to pursue Fehr. Sutton moved close enough to make a move with three laps remaining but couldn’t make it stick. Fehr went on to earn the victory third went to Unglert followed by Cormier and Fillbrun. Congratulations to Jason Hentrich on earning the Dirt 600 Borgers Speedway Track Championship. Cormier had a strong day in the TQ. We brought him slowly up to speed helping him gain confidence in the car and in himself until by the heat race he was running competitive laps. We have seats open for most of the races that remain on the schedule. Call Blu Metz (610)217-2593 for details. A night of racing at Borgers speedway is affordably priced at $300.
