Mexican Americans can’t get enough of him. The onetime lead singer of the Smiths is as central to the culture there as bean-and-cheese burritos. A lot has been written about this subject, and I know Ive spent a lot of time talking to friends about why we Chicanos love Morrissey so much, too. But whats most interesting to me about this article is how the author, who is Mexican American, switches from talking about Mexican Americans from somewhat detached, third-person perspective to a first-person perspective in about the sixth paragraph.
