Mexicans should watch this documentary. Many people from Torreón are puzzled as to why the water disappeared in the river there. Ive only seen pictures of it, but a huge river once flowed through Torreón. In fact, the area is called La Laguna because of the water flow that existed there. But one day I spoke with a top guy at Lala (dairy) who told me that the water is heavily controlled by the government for the big 4 corporations in Torreón: Coca-Cola, Peñoles, Corona (beer), Lala (dairy), and of course the government too. They consume so much water that they had to build a dam in Durango (where the water was coming from). But things didnt add up until recently. I was watching this documentary (which talks a lot about Mexico), and people say there at certain times of the day there was no available water coming from their taps at home. The reason for it was because at certain times of the day, the government would divert water supplies to the large corporations (namely, Coca-Cola). This was happening to me also in Torreón; often around noon time there was little water pressure or no water at all. It was always brushed off as being a pipe issue or a municipal issue with water pressure, but in fact, the truth is far more shocking. Water doesnt mysteriously disappear; not from a huge river bed, and not from your faucets either. It is taken; and for political, and corporate reasons, which has great economic, environmental, and health effects in the area. But capitalists dont care about that! youtube/watch?v=Owl59XeknxU
