Micah 5:2. “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little - TopicsExpress

Micah 5:2. “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” The name Bethlehem literally means house of bread. It received this name and meaning because it was in a grain producing region during the days of the Old Testament. The city of Bethlehem was not a big city in Israel, like Jerusalem. In fact, the town is not mentioned very often in the Bible. But when it was mentioned, it was meaningful. Bethlehem was the birthplace of David, king of Israel. Also, and more importantly, it was the birthplace of the Lord Jesus Christ. You and I are very much like Bethlehem. We are not extremely famous. We are not financially wealthy. We are not highly prominent. Yet, God chooses to use us, just as He used the town of Bethlehem to be the birthplace of the Messiah. No matter who you are, and no matter your vocation, God wants to use you to impact the lives of others. I encourage you to surrender yourself into the hands of the Lord. Ask Him where He can use you and ask Him how He wants to use you. Then go where He directs you and do what He directs you to do.
