Michael (8) came home and declared he needed to get to work on building a steam-powered horseless carriage. So he proceeded to hammer out a bunch of soda cans, tape them together, etc. As I was preparing dinner in the kitchen, he wondered through, muttering to himself, Now I need some straws, wood, and matches. Im really glad I was there to hear that... Steve Powell can NOT get home fast enough to help guide this project. This is clearly one of those times when Michael is HIS kid :-) (And in case you need a visual, hes doing all this in his new new blue button-down dress shirt in which he tucked the silk pocket square he dyed with indigo ink in school last year--thanks Shannon Hensley!)
