Michael Baisden Commentary: When Are You Going To Settle Down? Theres nothing more irritating for a single person than hearing that question. And my answer is always the same, Im already settled. Since when did being in a relationship make you more stable? If anything relationships only reflect and amplify the circumstances youre in when you meet. If youre irresponsible with money you will have fights over finances. If you cant stand being alone you will irritate your partner by being clingy. And if you sleep around, you will create drama and distrust in your relationship. My point is you shouldnt need a mate to be settled, happy, or stable. Lets face it, people dont change because theyre in a relationship. And as you get older the idea of trying to fix people is a definite, Hell to the no! So why not choose someone who is already settled that way you dont have to mold them into your ideal. In a country where there are now more single people than married ones, the question shouldnt be, When are you going to settle down? But rather, When is someone who has their shit together going to step to the plate? Being in a relationship is not an accomplishment unless it enhances your life and adds to your peace. ~ Michael Baisden
