Michael Bird is a theologian/writer that I often read with deep appreciation. Such is the case again in this fine critique of a disagreement about the place of the Bible in faith between Andy Stanley and Denny Burke. I believe Bird sorts out what is missing on both sides but I also tend to think that Stanley was "thinking" of the very error that Burke makes in his original comment. I will try to follow this and see where it leads but Bird has plainly caught the proper theological perspective on the matter.
