Espinal Reyes this reminds me of when we were at Brown during the summer of 2004 n we were broken up into small groups; n had to walk those racist ass neighborhoods in Providence to talk to the locals about the conditions of schools.... n those racist ass elderly people kept referencing nigger n spic this n that about why they wasnt comfortable in their neighborhoods... I sit in ponder sometimes how these folks and/or their parents were during the Jim Crow South and ongoing into the Civil Rights Era... because this bullshit right here is a cultural behavior of beliefs developed in them as young children n then passed down throughout generations.... N, I still cringe at how Catholicism, the Bible n the image of Jesus is still being used to perpetuate racist connotations...
