Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom will join Noomi Rapace in the thriller “Unlocked” with shooting set to start Nov. 3. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing along with Georgina Townsley and Erik Howsam. Silver Reel will finance and produce with di Bonaventura. Alex Walton and Ken Kao’s new Bloom banner is introducing the film at the Toronto International Film Festival. British director Michael Apted will direct from a screenplay by Peter O’Brien. Rapace will play a CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides information to terrorists — triggering a race against the clock to stop a biological warfare attack on London. She became attached to the project earlier this year. Bloom will be seen next in “The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies” and he recently came on board Shane Black’s detective thriller “The Nice Guys.” Douglas was most recently seen in “And So It Goes” and is filming “Ant-Man.” Rapace stars in crime-drama “The Drop,” which screened Saturday at Toronto in the Special Presentations section, with the late James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy. Di Bonaventura produced “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” Silver Reel has financed 22 projects since 2009 including “Under the Skin,” “The Railway Man” and “A Hologram for a King,” starring Tom Hanks. Douglas is represented by UTA. Bloom is represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Raprace is represented by CAA and Magnolia Entertainment. Apted is represented by CAA and the Gotham Group.
