Michael Nartey it is just like in the early 90s when we offered Liberian refugees a place at Budumburam. now imagine the Nigerian government started sponsoring and equipping them to build high rises and build big businesses. nothing wrong there right? now just imagine that due to their newly acquired superior economic and military strength, they start grabbing neighboring lands by force! Kasoa, Gomoa, Mallam, Odorkor, Kaneshie, Dansoman, etc and forcing the indigenes (Ghanaians) to start moving towards Jamestown and Osu. the reason people have confused matters for so long is: 1, the fact that those are the biblical lands of the Israelites - the Krobos are also said to have migrated from Israel, should we go back to claim it? 2, the fact that Palestinians teach hatred of Jews in their curricula and Hamas does not recognize Israel. now i really dont know how youd feel if your relatives and loved ones where being held without trial in Israeli jails and your leaders were being assassinated on a regular basis. for Hamas, recognizing the state of Israel is like accepting the right of the Liberians in Budumburam to stay and remain in the occupied lands they have grabbed. All this facade of peace talks is just to give back land occupied by Israel back to the rightful owners. So you see, this is my understanding of the issue; i am open to new information. I just think its unjust, the whole situation... just imagine if the Chadians who are always begging for alms by the roadside in Accra suddenly, because of a rich NGO (the US, France, Britain), started acquiring lands by force and turning us into refugees... this is not far fetched at all... refugees who are more resourceful than the local people can make this happen, it is a real possibility. just recently, our local traders were demonstrating against Chinese and Nigerian traders.... and this is even trade not a land grab!
