Michael Ruehl... No one individual reads them . That is what staffers are for and why they are so important.. They are assigned designated portions to read and report back to the Congressional leader.. This is how things have been done for ions,, The language in these bills is full of lawyer speak as its called,, It is confusing to say the least, so by delegating portions, it allows for a more accurate and intensely scrutinized piece of legislation.. They bury so much shit in these huge and convoluted 1500 page bills. Im sure there was a lot of bullshit attached that had nothing to do with the intent of the bill. And... what you said is true: that is what the staffers are for. So, does that mean that our elected officials vote on the recommendation of unelected staffers? Michael Ruehl... I dont believe that would be the case.. The staffers job is to sift through the lawyer speak and make a concise summary of the litigation that provides the elected leader a clear picture, easily understandable facts, and the purposeful and actual implication of said legislation.. It is not their job to recommend or skew the basic premise of the legislation.. Is there room for inaccuracies,, sure,, but that is where you and I differ,, You believe all government is evil,, I believe some of government is evil, some of government is impartial and to them its just a good paying job with a lot of perks, and some of government tries to do things as designed by the original concepts of the Constitution and thus carry a loyalty of that importance within our government.. There will always be government, it is up to us, with the power of the vote, as to decide which one we promote and in doing so determine what the end result will be..
