Michael Thompson had a town hall meeting to present what he perceives as the reason the county is in debt.... They called the TV stations, but did not contact The Tunica Times... I just happened to see a quick flash on TV this morning at 6:00... Thought maybe I saw it wrong... Because the Supervisors Board meet is tomorrow at 5:00. They had it in the boardroom, because they are having court... He said we will increase mileage rates, but will not decrease employees! I asked him to explain to the audience who that would affect... He said the citizens of Tunica County... I asked all citizens, or just the people that own property. I said it seemed to me that he was saying he was going to run this county like a big business. So I told him in most businesses, if income is below expenses, then you have to cut expenses.... So where are the cuts being made? If he is not going to cut employees? He said by not paving new roads like Canon Road that has no houses on it.... Wee. That has saved the county money, Joe Jackson asked him if he paid taxes in Tunica... He said no... He does not live in Tunica County.... Joe said well you need to think about it! He also wanted to know what percent of County employees live out side of Tunica County... He said he did not know, but would find out. We need to be sure to have a turn out at the Budget meeting tomorrow night at 5:00. If that is truly the time and has not been changed...
