Michael Welton. Meditation Coach mike.middlewaymeditation@gmail middlewaymeditation.co An Attitude of Gratitude Everything that we eat, drink, wear, live in, use, or drive is the end result of the work of hundreds if not thousands of people. The body that we now have is the product of tons of food and seas of liquid, without which we would have died, and are all produced by other people. As part of our all day every day Mindfulness Practise and our Loving Kindness Meditation it would be beneficial for us to pause as we accept anything we eat or drink and think in a meaningful way “Thank You”. You are thanking not only the person giving you food or drink but all those who have helped to put this food or drink before us. We should also gracefully accept what is given to us and allow other people to practice Generosity. There are several benefits, 1. It is a trigger for making ourselves Mindful and in the Present Moment several times a day. 2. It invokes a blessing on the people we are thanking. 3. It produces a field of goodwill in the world, similar to our Loving Kindness Meditation. 4 It softens and cleanses our heart, increases our sense of Generosity and Kindness and adds to our own field of merit which will “fuel” our meditation.
