Michele (Missy) started her 3rd cycle of chemo last Thursday. She also has to inject herself with a drug twice afterwards to help her bone marrow create more baby white cells. The after affects of the chemo are very debilitating, but the Neupogen injections make her bones hurt so bad she has to be on painkillers for several days. By Tuesday, she is coming around enough to try to go to work for a few hours Tues. & Wed.. Other than the several days of extreme pain, her worst constant symptom is fatigue. She describes her fatigue as unimaginable! For those of you who (like me) arent familiar with how chemo cycles work, she takes chemo three Thursdays a month and then she is off a week. When she starts back, she starts a new cycle. She will have four cycles of chemo and then the plan is to go off the infusion of chemo, go on chemo pills and start radiation., The radiation will be 5 days a week for six weeks.
