Michigan Opera Theatre is currently seeking applicants for the position of Technical Assistant. The Technical Assistant works with the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director in managing day to day operations during opera season. The TA is responsible for purchasing, ordering and transportation of materials, hardware and supplies and maintaining stocks. The TA also takes responsibility for moving equipment, supplies, props & costumes between the Detroit Opera House and its warehouse spaces. This individual also plays a key role in maintaining schedules, equipment and does on-site installs of audio and video equipment throughout our facility for internal events. Applicants must be reliable, have a good driving record and be willing to get a chauffeurs license. (Fees for license reimbursed.) Position is paid hourly. Typical Schedule is 10 to 12 weeks in the Fall beginning September 23, and 12 to 14 weeks in the Spring, beginning March 3rd. 40 hours/ week offered during these times. Additional hours may be available outside these dates. Weekly/ daily schedule can be flexible.
