Micho – Kabugo in better shape Uganda head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has said central defender Savio Kabugo has shaken off his injury worries and is in good shape ahead of an international friendly against Rwanda on Saturday. The SC Victoria University defender has been nursing a muscle strain, but featured in the team’s 1-1 draw against SC Villa on Tuesday. “He is doing well and even played for 30 minutes in the Cranes’ 2-0 win over a University Select side on Wednesday,” said Micho. Kabugo, who played an instrumental role in the Cranes’ qualification for the 2014 Africa Nations Championship, is expected to be part of Micho’s squad for the fourth coming regional CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya. “I am feeling much better now and will continue to work hard both at my club and for the national team,” Kabugo told the Media The defender is part of the Cranes squad that enters residential camp this afternoon ahead of the game against Rwanda at the Mandela National Stadium on Saturday. The Cranes, to consist of only home-based players, are likely to struggle in the absence of midfielders Hassan Wasswa Mawanda and Denis Iguma. While Iguma is injured, coach Micho ignored the unsettled Wasswa, who has reportedly left KCCA FC to join a Vietnam side without getting clearance.
