Mickey’s Daily Bread Proverbs Ch 19 Proverbs 19:2 (KJV) 2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hastes with his feet sins. Solomon in writing this proverb probably has in mind the story when his brother Absalom was killed 2 Samuel 18. 27 Ahimaaz without knowing the details asked to run and tell David but Joab refused as he did not have a message. Cushi who did have the message was told to run and tell David. Then Ahimaaz after Cushi had gone asked Joab again. This time Joab said okay and Ahimaaz outran Cushi but when Ahimaaz got to David he could not give any clear information. Challenge. Are we running a” good” life with no clear message or are we running our life with the message that Jesus had died for our sins and rose again.? Throughout the whole Bible there is much teaching about giving and the benefits of doing so. Here is a precious insight. Proverbs 19:17 17 He that hath pity upon the poor lends unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Proverbs has much to say about bringing up children. Mike was in Kenya recently and had to do a seminar on this subject. He mentioned that sadly what he was teaching there he could not teach in Scotland or in Western countries because what the book of Proverbs says about bringing up children is now totally unacceptable. Sadly the Western countries are reaping what has been sown whilst in Kenya and other parts of Africa a generation is rising up that fears and honours the Lord due the teaching of discipline outlined in Proverbs Proverbs 19:18 (KJV) 18 Chasten thy son while there is hope and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
