Microsoft: Its Time for Us to Talk About Gaming on Windows: Following the announcement of Windows 10 in September, Microsofts top gaming boss, Phil Spencer, vowed to demonstrate to fans why the PC is incredibly important as it relates to gaming. Now, Spencer has spoken out again to say the time is now--well, soon--for the company to show fans what that means. Ill be focusing more on what we are doing on Windows 10 in January, Spencer said to a fan on Twitter. Its time for us to talk about gaming on Windows. When Windows 10 was announced, Microsoft billed it as one platform to serve all of the companys products. However, specific details regarding how the new OS might operate alongside--or within--the Xbox One remain to be seen. According to Spencer, we may not have to wait long to find out.Phil Spencer at E3 Spencers tease of news coming in January 2015 suggests that whatever he plans to reveal will take place at the recently announced Windows 10 consumer event, currently scheduled for January 21. Back in June, Spencer said gaming on Windows is critical to Microsofts success, and before that, he admitted that Microsoft needs to do more to support PC gamers, saying part of his job as Head of Xbox is to bring back our Windows gaming focus. More recently, Spencer acknowledged in an October interview that Microsoft had lost its way somewhat with PC gaming, a trend he said hopes to reverse in the future. We took gaming very seriously on Windows a while ago, he said at the time. Ill say we, during the [release of the Xbox], we were kind of distributed in what we were thinking about as we were launching Xbox. Im really committed to us getting back to supporting both Xbox as much as we ever have, and also PC. Because I know my friends and the customers out there that are great gamers on Xbox are also, a lot of them, are great gamers on PC.
