Microsoft One Note - Now Free For All, And Everywhere Microsoft made big news by releasing a new One Note app for OS X, and also making it free across all platforms as well. Microsoft has been embracing a new freemium model to things lately, in addition to their making certain big time apps free on their own. One Note is free for most features, and pay to play for more advanced features, making this a freemium offering. As Outlook is their answer to Googles Gmail, Outlook comes bundled with a browser-based version of Skype (a la Google Hangouts), and they have an online version of Microsoft Office, which is their (very functional) answer to Google Docs. Combined with their One Drive cloud offering (as compared to Google Drive), you pretty much having Microsoft wanting to go toe-to-toe with Google. Enter Microsofts One Note.
