Microsoft Will Reportedly Launch Rs 10,000 Tablet in India With an aim to tap the low end tablet market, Microsoft is preparing to launch a Windows tablet in coming months. As per the Times of India report, the tablet will cost as low as Rs 10,000. ”We are reducing our required hardware specification for Windows to bare minimum that is needed for good experience. We want to be price competitive with Android. We want to get the bill of material for Windows tablets down,” Amrish Goyal, director of Windows business group, told TOI. The move comes form Windows to give a tough competition to the current Indian tablet market leader Android. Also, the high end tablets from the company have failed to attract users. Hardware giants like HP and Dell will most probably make the devices for Microsoft, along with smaller players such as Karbonn and Lava. Yesterday we reported that smartphone maker Karbonn is all geared up to launch a smartphone that will support Windows Phone.
