Microsoft is starting to backtrack on the demise of support for Windows XP. You may not realise that a Bank ATM is a computer that is linked to a network. Apparently approximately 95% of these Bank ATMs/ Cash point Machines are running Windows XP. Perhaps the reason for the backtracking is that banks have complained to Microsoft that they will not be able to change all of these computers in the next couple of months, costing them millions in investment which would leave the whole of the Cash Point network prone to cyber attack if support is ended.
