Mid May 1970 at Chipping Camden magistrates court, as John Reynolds is brought out of a police van for a committal hearing, Harold Everett approached the police and asked if he may approach Reynolds, who ten weeks before had critically injured with a double barrelled shotgun, both him and his eldest son, Me. The police thought it unusual but allowed him. He put his arms round Reynolds, hugged him and said, I forgive you John. He was the loveliest of compassionate human beings.
