Mid fifties my Mom and Dad would board the city bus for town, older brothers would walk to town dragging garden cart, Mom and Dad would make there stop at Krogers , Big Bear and Market House ( Brandons had a meat stall there and had very good country sausage), occasional stop at the New System Bakery. The brothers would meet up with the garden cart and pull the load home. The parents would get back on the bus and come home. Life seemed much simpler then.
